A successful farming operation or other successful methods might be open to visitors on a field day. In this manner, a group of farmers might see how a given practise (or practises) worked under the circumstances where they lived. A single topic at a time or a variety of topics of interest to farmers could be covered during field days. The field day's goals are to facilitate informal interactions and learning by allowing farmers and farm women to personally witness, inquire about effective and locally applicable approaches, and ask questions. Once or twice a year, typically during each crop season, field days are held at farmer fields to showcase effective farming methods or research.
