System of rice intensification & hybrid rice technology
The new technology for improving the rice productivity in the State was identified and adopted by all the KVKs. SRI is the technology with lesser input (seed, water) with higher return. KVK Rewa, Shahdol, Katni, Seoni, Rewa, Jabalpur, Umaria, Balaghat, Dindori, Betul and Mandla initiated this programme on large scale. The numbers of interventions were implemented by these KVKs to disseminate the technology to farming communities. The scented rice varieties (Pusa Sugandha 4,5), rice hybrids (JRH 5, 6, 9) and improved varieties (MTU 1010, 1084 Danteshwari) were assessed and demonstrated under this system. The impact of the programme revealed that rice productivity could be increased by 55 to 61 percent with higher cost benefit ratio. A large number of farmers have started this system of cultivation and obtained higher profitability as compared to traditional method of rice transplanting.
Ridge and furrow system of planting Ridge and furrow system of planting in soybean were demonstrated on farmers field by KVK Jabalpur, Tikamgarh, Hoshangabad, Shahdol, Katni, Seoni, Rewa, Seoni, Chhindwara, Umaria, Balaghat, Dindori infiltration and poor drainage as well under light textured soils of rainfed areas where crop suffers due to terminal water stress condition.
System of Pigeon pea Intensification
System of intensification in Pigeonpea were demonstrated on farmers field by KVK Jabalpur, Hoshangabad, Shahdol, Katni, Seoni, Rewa, Seoni, Chhindwara, Umaria, Balaghat, Dindori, Betul and Mandla. The numbers of interventions were implemented by these KVKs to disseminate the technology to larger farming communities. The Pigeonpea (TJT 501) productivity had increase by 42 percent. This technology found suitable for both heavy soils having low infiltration and poor drainage as well under light textured soils of rainfed areas where crop suffers due to terminal water stress condition.
System of Mustard Intensification
Systems of intensification in Mustard were demonstrated on farmers field by KVK. The numbers of interventions were implemented by these KVKs to disseminate the technology to larger farming communities. The Mustard (PusaTarak and Pusa Jaikisan) productivity had increase by 255 percent.
System of Wheat Intensification
Systems of intensification in wheat were demonstrated on farmers field by KVK. The numbers of interventions were implemented by these KVKs to disseminate the technology to larger farming communities. The wheat productivity had increase by 18 percent with saving of seed by 65%.
Seed dibbling
New initiated has been taken by KVK Betul in sowing method of soybean. The sowing of seed by hand dibbling at 60x15cm distance. Thirty quintal yield of soybean were recorded. The area under this method is percent season is 2000 ha in Betul district.
